The tactile sense can be imparted through an image. Like most images, it's the light (quality, intensity and direction) that controls the success of the image. This image, Autumn Leaves (a great song), was created on a cloudy day, so the light was diffused with some direction, but not intense. That provided sufficient definition so the concrete texture could be seen without it being stark (like it would be in direct sun light). The lone leaf is about in the 'rule of thirds' position. I intensified the saturation of the leaves just a bit to make them 'pop' out of the image.
